Farmers' Market Shoppers join the Moovement

Visitors to Maidenhead Farmers' Market in October could sign and post a postcard to their MP. This is part of foe's camapign to get as many MPs as possible to attend the second reading of the Sustainable Livestock Bill in November.

This Private Memmber's Bill is on the order papers thanks to a massive lobbying campaign last year by foe members. It seeks to encourage non intensive livestock rearing. This will mean that animals reared for food will obtain more of their food from grazing in the open and less on imported, soya based animal feed. This in turn will mean that less rainforest will be destroyed in order to grow soya for animal feed.

It is important that as many MPs as possible attend the second reading to avoid the bill being "talked out" by opposers, so Maidenhead foe were pleased that about 50 shoppers wrote postcards to Theresa May asking her to attend and support the Bill.
