Save our Community Shops

At the February meeting we discussed the National Campaigns that are pending with Friends of the Earth.

But we would also like to contribute towards something closer to home.

We would like to reduce "Shopping Miles", and encourage the Sustainability of our Local Community Shops.

And if the Store sells local produce ... even better ... and we will actively promote that Store (and its' local produce) on our Web-Site.

We will subsequently publish "FOE Green Shopping Leaflets" for each area.

These leaflets will be left at leaflet dispensers throughout Mid Sussex, with a two fold intention:

To encourage greater support for our Local Village Shops.

To elevate the profile of Mid Sussex FOE, and encourage more like minded people to join us.

We will start this project in Lindfield, but if anyone has knowledge of other suitable shops in the Villages of the area, please send details and we can all contribute to this campaign.

But it need not be just Villages, it could be countryside Farm Shops, or even suitable shops in both Burgess Hill & Haywards Heath.
