About this group

We are currently working to oppose plans for a new biofuel power station in Newport which would burn palm oil from Asia.

There are also potential plans to site a huge new incinerator in Newport which would deal with waste from 5 local authority areas.

We have recently campaigned against (and won) plans for a new section of motorway around Newport (Gwent Levels road scheme).

What can I do?

There are many ways people can help and get involved. You can help by:

  • Joining in with letter/email writing campaigns
  • Taking part in demonstrations
  • Staffing a group information stall at a fair or fete in the summer
  • Monitoring the local press for environmental stories of interest to the group
  • Running a website for the group
  • Organising fundraising events
  • Simply joining in with like minded people and having some fun!
