Friends of the Earth > Local Groups > Rugby
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month (except July) at 8pm at the Friends Meeting House, Regent Place, Rugby. Everyone is welcome. These business meetings last for about two hours with a break for tea and a chat in the middle and afterwards discussion usually carries on to the pub.
In the place of the July meeting we have a 'Summer Social'. We hold our local AGM in November.
We're always keen for new people to get involved, so please contact us if you'd like to join us. If you can't make it to a business meeting, we also meet on the fourth Thursday of each month (except December) at about 9.30pm at The Alexandra Arms, James Street, Rugby; or pop into Dave's Wholefood Shop in St Andrew's Church House, Rugby during the day on a Thursday or Friday: the profit from some of his goods helps to support our group.
In December we have a Christmas meal.
We have close links with other Friends of the Earth groups in Coventry & Warwickshire and throughout the Midlands. The Warwickshire groups share a stall at Leamington Peace Festival and we are also supporting the group in Coventry in their fight against the proposed new incinerator.
We have actively campaigned on the Airport plans, GM foods, Climate Change and in support of the plans for Windfarms nearby.
We usually have stalls at Stretton on Dunsmore Village fete and Art in the Park in Caldecott Park.
See our diary of events for details of all forthcoming meetings and other events and please contact the campaigner organising any events with which you might be able to help.
Our website also includes a page of useful local links.
