Friends of the Earth > Local Groups > Southport
Neil Kingsworth, FOE National Head of Activism, interviewed Michelle and Laurence from the branch on our recent campaign activities, particularly opposing Fracking for shale gas in Lancashire. This was the first in a series of glocal group interviews which Neil is doing, and which will form the basis of a number of blog reports for the national website.
Michelle and Laurence explained how we had helped to set up the local anti fracking group REAF, and our involvement in petitioning, protest marches and cycle rides. Neil was also interested to hear of our other local activities including promoting 20mph speed limits in residential areas, protecting the Green Belt from development, and taking part in beach cleans. Look out for Neil's report on the national website in the next couple of weeks.
