About us

When and where?

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Friends Meeting House, 13 Bath Place, Taunton at 7.30pm. Meetings are relaxed and informal, everyone is welcome.

About this group

Taunton Friends of the Earth campaigns and lobbies on environmental issues affecting everyone who lives in and around Somerset.

Issues we have been active with include; -Genetic modification - Organic targets - Local food - Transport - Climate change - Waste - Fair trade - Local development plans - Plans for the Somerset Levels and Moors. Full membership of Taunton FOE is only £5 a year, for which you will receive our regular newsletters keeping you up to date on the most pressing environmental issues in and around Somerset.

Currently campaigns include; - Stop Esso - Supporting plans for a new wind farm at Hinkley point - Promoting integrated transport opposing new road schemes - GM free Britain.
