One of our biggest campaign wins has been getting Haringey Council signed up to ambitious carbon reduction targets. Despite the recession and the massive cuts to its budget, Haringey is still moving ahead with its plans - well done Haringey! They recently published the Haringey Carbon Commission report which sets out a raft of recommendations for how this cane be done; and the Council has adopted a plan to carry the recopmmendations forward.
This includes district heating schemes, housing insulation retrofit schemes, and renewable energy installations.
Haringey's plans got good coverage - including a suggestion on the The Guardian's website that Haringey should host the next UN Climate talks:

Let's all get behind the plans and get our local residents' associations etc into action.
