Friends of the Earth > Local Groups > Tottenham & Wood Green
In the middle of April we spent two days creating bee-friendly areas of plants in Markfield Park, in conjunction with Friends of Markfield Park and The Conservation Volunteers (formerly BTCV).
Much digging and planting of seeds was done to create one of the 60 Bee Worlds being developed across the country as part of Friends of the Earth's Bee Cause campaign.
Bee numbers are in decline and loss of habitat has been identified as a major cause, so the Bee Worlds are a step in the right direction - they also focus public attention on the plight of bees and the fact that we CAN do something about it.
You can see a photo of the happy diggers on the right. If you like, you can find out more about the Bee Cause campaign.
