Friends of the Earth > Local Groups > Tottenham & Wood Green
Last year Friends of the Earth Clean British Energy campaign ran a national photography competition on the theme of renewable energy. In May and June we hosted 12 of the best entries at Marcus Garvey Library at Tottenham Green Centre on Philip Lane.
We had a special viewing to launch the photo exhibition, which went really well - about 30 people came, including 4 councillors.
Friends of the Earth national campaigner Guy Shrubsole and David Lammy MP urged people to get their MPs to support the decarbonisation target in the Energy Bill.
We also heard from Cara Jenkinson of en10ergy and Muswell Hill Sustainability Group about local moves to promote PV on schools and community buildings.
It's clearer than ever that climate change caused by humans is threatening us all. A switch to renewable energy is vital. Right now a major Energy Bill is going through Parliament.
Friends of the Earth is campaigning to ensure this Bill commits the UK to getting its power from carbon-free sources over the next generation.
We are also encouraging local renewable energy, such as en10ergy is installing in Haringey.
