David Lammy MP vows to call for a stronger Energy Bill

David Lammy has committed to calling for a stronger Energy Bill when it reaches the House of Commons this spring.

He made the commitment at a public meeting arranged by us at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre in collaboration with Stop Climate Chaos coalition; he also said "Fuel poverty in this constituency is very real - we need a serious bill that will address that."

Liz Hutchins, Friends of the Earth's Parliamentary Campaigner, also called on the Government at the meeting to strengthen the Energy Bill.

Cost-effective measures like insulating homes and installing renewable energy would:

Create jobs

Reduce CO2 emissions

Cut energy

Local group member Sasha Pratt spoke on behalf of UK Youth Climate Coalition. Ben Nibblet, Head of Campaigns at Tearfund, completed the panel.

BIG CLIMATE RECONNECTION

The public meeting was one of a series of nationwide events organised by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition.
