On Saturday 13th October, local Friends of the Earth campaigners brought the Bee Cause to Walthamstow Apple Day in the Vestry House Museum. The annual community event, which celebrates all things 'appley', was hugely successful for the local effort to reverse the worrying and dangerous worldwide decline in bee numbers.
Visitors to our stall eagerly collected wildflower seeds and information regarding the plight of bees, as well as signing postcards calling on the government to adopt a national bee action plan. Many expressed an interest in being involved in the campaign locally, which will be aided by the generous donations we gratefully received!
Thanks to everyone who spoke, took and gave- we look forward to seeing you all soon!
