In June FoE members became Crime Scene Investigators as they looked into the illegal levels of air pollution around Micklegate Bar
York FoE held a jam packed flash mob on 27th March. The jam themed action drew attention from crowds of passersby and car drivers as dressed as waitresses, chefs and 1950s housewives we gave out jam tarts as an alternative to traffic jams.
Members of York and Ryedale FoE joined thousands in London on Saturday 5th December to send a clear message to World leaders that action must be taken on climate change!
12 members of the York and Ryedale Friend of the Earth group gave their seal of approval to the Donna Nook grey seal nature reserve at the end of November. As part of one of our social activities we visited the grey seals at Donna Nook.
Making the climate connection...a positive vision for York. More than 200 residents of York turned up to voice their concerns at a Climate meeting co-organised by FOE York and Ryedale on Friday 27 November.

Over 300 people from York and Yorkshire came together for a peaceful protest around York Minster to send a strong message to world leaders when they meet in Copenhagen to broker another Climate Change agreement.
York Green Festival is a celebration of sustainable living, campaigning for change and a better way of living. We couldn't agree more. We were there raising awareness and getting support for the 'Food chain' and 'Get Serious on CO2' campaigns.
Our food chain is broken, factory farming demands huge amounts of soy for animal feed. Forests in Latin America are cleared to grow it. It's not about getting rid of meat and dairy farming - it's about getting government to revolutionise it!
We need to win commitments from local authorites (like York Council) and national government to policies that will deliver a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2020. The people of York want action!
There is an invisible crisis facing UK seas, York and Ryedale FOE support a strong Marine Bill to rescue our seas.
