York Wave of support for safe climate future!

On Saturday 24th October 2009 over 300 climate justice supporters from York and Yorkshire braved the cold and wet to send a strong message to world leaders who will be at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen in December.

This December world leaders meet in Copenhagen to make vital decisions on climate change. We need them to commit to a fair climate change deal that puts the needs of poor communities in developing countries at its heart. Time is running out. The 300 plus crowd wearing shades of Bluemade their voices heard, with whistles, clapping, cheering, whooping and even a lone harmonica. The message was clear - we want climate justice.

We hope the York Wave, others in the country and the WAVE in London on December will tell our government and other world leaders that our climate is in their hands and they must act now.

The York Wave was organised by the 11 million strong Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, who are the committed supporters, campaigners, hearts, minds and voices of over 100 organisations.

DEMAND CLIMATE CHANGE NOW! Make our leaders change direction - Be part of the WAVE in London on Saturday 5th December. Find out more about in our events section and sign our petition at the following website - www.demandclimatechange.com
