Media reports on rising air pollution in York

Recent articles in The Press and The Yorkshire Post have highlighted the rising problem of air pollution in York and the surrounding area.

The article 'Tackling rising air pollution in York' in The Press on Monday 29th March, links the ever increasing traffic volumes in York to dangerous nitrogen dioxide levels throughout the city centre, Fulford and Fishergate, whilst The Yorkshire Post in its article 'Revealed: The most polluted street in Britain' showed that even on the moors we're not safe from high levels of pollutants.

This ties in closely with our campaign 'York's Jammed: Lets put the brake on traffic growth'. For congestion, pollution, health, safety and climate change reasons we need to make sure that we don't have even more traffic on our roads.

Read the story about our jammin action last week and write to councillor to ask them to make sure there's zero traffic growth.
