About this group

Wycombe Friends of the Earth is a voluntary campaigning group covering the Wycombe district in South Buckinghamshire, UK. It aims to help residents learn about environmental issues and to become directly involved in addressing them at a local level.

Our first campaign was to screen Al Gore's climate-change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", followed by Q&A with Wycombe MP Paul Goodman and a panel of guests at John Hampden school. Big Thanks to the team for making it happen -- and to everyone who came and showed their support.

We are currently concerned about and campaigning on a number of issues, including:

* The Big Ask -- pushing for a tough climate change law
* Plastic-Bag Free Eden Centre
* Schools Energy Survey
* Promoting better energy efficiency in shops, offices and public spaces
* Conserving important suburban green-spaces
* Traffic and transport solutions
* Reducing excess packaging
