We challenged all budding young photographers to answer the question: what does climate change mean to you?

Check out these outstanding images from the winners of our Shout about 2009 photo competition:

Winner
David Rowlands, 13

Our two most worrying topics on earth right now are the recession and climate change. I took this picture to show how the environment is linked to the economy.

Runner up
Hannah Kilburn, 11

Tumble dryers use a lot of energy, two-thirds more than a washing machine. I took this photo to show an environmentally friendly way of drying clothes - on a washing line.

Commended
Laurie Batchelor 12, Sara Mazola 13, Greg Marlow 13

The competition was tough and David beat more than 60 other entrants to claim the top prize - a compact digital camera.
