Make a point

Make a petition

Do you want your school to start recycling? Do you want your council to save a local park?

Sometimes we can't get things done on our own. Petitions are a great way to show that lots of people agree with you. All you need to do is collect names and send it off.

Design your petition:

  • Use a title - explain what the petition is for.
  • Explain the situation - one or two clear sentences should do it.
  • Say what you want to be done about it.
  • Say where you are sending the petition - your school, your MP, local council?
  • Create a grid for names, addresses and signatures.
  • Number the forms so that you can easily count the signatures.
  • Make lots of copies for your friends to collect signatures at the same time.
  • Collect as many as you can and make sure you send it off!

We collected over 3,000 signatures from young people as part of our real food campaign. Find out where the petition was delivered.
