Organic and fair trade chocolate12 June 2008
If you're concerned about where your food comes from, there's now a pretty good range of organic and fair trade chocolate on the market.
Here, we survey some of the bars available.
Why organic?
Organic chocolate will be free of the chemical fertilisers and pesticides used in the cocoa industry. Read what the Soil Association's got to say about the reasons to eat organic.
Why fair trade?
The fair trade mark guarantees support for small-scale farmers, so that they don't suffer crippling debt when commodity prices fall. Read more on the Fairtrade Foundation website.
