Polar explorer Mark Wood is attempting a world-first expedition to raise awareness about climate change.
He is skiing to both the South and North Poles back-to-back and alone.
And he's on target to complete the 680-mile trek to the South Pole with temperatures dipping below minus 25 degrees.
Mark spoke to Friends of the Earth before setting off on his epic bid. Watch our video of some of his thoughts about the mission.
