Why is Friends of the Earth working with Big Barn?
Big Barn is committed to reversing the trend towards mass production of food and control of the market by big business. It believes that farmers should earn more than the average 9p for every £1 spent on food in the supermarket. It thinks it's wrong that milk is sometimes cheaper than water in some shops.
Big Barn's mission is to reconnect people with local producers, to help support the local economy. This means farmers and independent producers get a better deal, and you get fresh, good-value food.
