Emma Taylor's tip

I'd suggest a Clothes Swap Party - it's a great fun way to improve your wardrobe,
de-clutter your life and recycle. I thought of it recently after listening to several friends complaining they had no winter clothes they liked and no money to buy any new ones - and it was a great party.

Simply invite 5-10 friends to gather all the clothes and accessories they no longer wear and bring them to your home. With wine and snacks you have the perfect afternoon of home shopping as guests take a turn in offering an item to the others. There was lots of laughter at past mistakes, lots of trying on and if more than one person liked it, then there was a fashion show and vote.

All unwanted items were packed off to the charity bin. Everyone came away with some really nice clothes that will be used rather than hidden at the back of wardrobes. Do try it - it's great fun!
