Better nursery food now
There are currently no standards for the food served to toddlers and young children in nurseries and no plans to introduce them, but the Soil Association is involved in a campaign to change this. Amongst other demands, it is recommending that the Department for Children, Schools and Families adopts standards for nursery food that meet nutritional standards, and is 75% unprocessed, 50% locally sourced and 30% organic.
