Being a home entertainment buff used to mean amassing racks of CDs and DVDs. Aside from the bulky packaging, disks themselves are made of polycarbonates (an oil-derived plastic) and take decades to break down in landfill. Avoid adding to the problem by purchasing downloadable movies and albums online and storing them on your home computer or external hard drive.
