Tips - Take the pain out of drains
Blocked drains are no fun but many commercial drain-cleaning products are highly toxic, with corrosive ingredients like hydrochloric acid that harm aquatic life further down the line. For a greener alternative, mix baking soda and vinegar in boiling water and pour down affected drains.
Please be careful with this green tip re drain cleaning - it can be dangerous to mix baking soda and vinegar. Try pouring 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drain, and then slowly and carefully add 1/2 a cup of vinegar. Leave it in the drain for 30 minutes or so, then flush with hot water.
