18 July 2001

President George W. Bush is due in the UK for talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair later this week. To mark Bush's first visit to the UK - Friends of the Earth Climate Change protestors held a pre-talks protest outside Parliament.

Combining banners and street theatre their message was simple - Blair must stand up to Bush during the climate talks and support the Kyoto Protocol climate treaty. The Protocol is the only international agreement to cut the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change.
