Scorn poured on GM breakfast cereal
7 January 2002

Monsanto is planning to develop a strain of genetically modified (GM) maize that can be used to produce non-soggy breakfast cereals according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

Commenting Friends of the Earth Real Food Campaigner, Pete Riley said: "Non-soggy GM breakfast cereal is a flaky idea that people simply won't swallow. British consumers have made it perfectly clear that they don't want GM food or GM crops - no matter what corny marketing ploy is used to sell them."
