Elections 2010
9 March 2010

The General Election will take place on 6 May. Local Elections are scheduled for the same day in some areas.

A new Parliament

More than 200 first-time MPs are predicted to enter the new parliament.

This is a real opportunity to make sure that your candidates are commited to solving the huge challenges that our planet faces. Getting their commitment now means we can hold those who get elected to their promises.

We've now launched our Election 2010 campaign at election.foe.co.uk.

Over the coming weeks and months you'll be able to:

  • Lobby your candidates
  • Follow the election blog
  • Publicise events

And more.

Local Elections

These are taking place in 166 Council Areas. Here's a full list.

This includes around 30 areas where groups are campaigning for their councils to Get Serious About CO2.

We've got:

Tools for activists

We've produced extra resources for groups as well.

Hustings

We're not focusing resources on organising hustings.

But Ask The Climate Question are holding hustings in 50 marginal seats, organised by Stop Climate Chaos.

Speak to your network developer about planned hustings in your area. You can also publise your local events at election.foe.co.uk and don't forget this guide.
