The Copenhagen fringe
8 December 2009

There are two sides to the talks in Copenhagen.

The official event is at the Bella Center, 20 minutes by train from the city centre.

But there's also the Klimaforum, an alternative "people's" summit with it's own talks, meetings and press conferences.

Think of it as Copenhagen's answer to the Edinburgh Fringe.

At the launch of  Klimaforum yesterday was:
  • Nnimmo Bassey, chair of Friends of the Earth International.
  • Naomi Klein (pictured) world-famous activist and author.
Nnimmo spoke about Klimaforum being a place for real people to create movements and share real solutions to climate change.

It's also a meeting place for those who are unable to get into the talks, somewhere they can keep up to speed with what is happening.

Alternatively they can watch the webcast from inside the Bella Center - proof, if you needed it, that this gathering is not fun and games.
