London network events in August
23 July 2010

Aged 18-30(ish) and keen to get involved in environmental campaigning? Come along to our August events and help launch the new London Activist Network.

We're launching a new action network for people aged 18-30(ish) who want to get involved in environmental campaigning. We have two events planned for August.

Whether you're already a part of a our local group network or not we'd love to see you at either event.

Inaugural meeting of the London Activist Network

What: Find out what we have planned over the summer for this new campaigning network. We'll spend some time looking at what we've got lined up. We'll also be making banners and props in advance of our first action outside the Paraguayan embassy later that week (see below).

When: Monday 9 August, 6.00-8.30pm on a drop-in basis. Come along when you can for as long as you can.

Where: Friends of the Earth, 26-28 Underwood Street, London, N1 7JQ.

Cargill/Sobrevivencia solidarity action

What: Cargill are an international producer of livestock feed. We'll be linking up with Friends of the Earth Paraguay and demonstrating against a new Cargill port outside the Paraguayan capital Asuncion.

The port violates a number of laws and contributes to the intensive soy export trade that is damaging the target=_self>Food Chain. We'll be holding a short rally outside the Paraguayan embassy to show our opposition to the port.

When: 11 August, 10.00-11.00am

Where: Paraguayan Embassy, 344 Kensington High Street, W14 8NS
