Creative ideas for your campaign
24 May 2011

Beth Porter is a member of Walsall Friends of the Earth, who've been coming up with some innovative props.

The Walsall group are a very active group, campaigning on a wide range of issues and engaging with the public. Props catch people's attention, much more than your average stall.

We regularly hold days of action and stalls in Walsall town centre, where people can get information about the work that we do. They're not the easiest of people to persuade!"

If at first you don't succeed...

We asked Beth what advice she'd give people working on props for campaigns:

Try to be innovative, and don't get downhearted if something doesn't work first time. Try a different method, and never throw anything away as you can always find a use for it.

Scrap? What scrap?

I've got lots of spare fabric that I've collected over the years - I never throw anything away if I can help it. So I don't really spend any money making props, and I enjoy making them.

Adding creative ideas to the ways we present campaigns is always a sure-fire way to get noticed.
