The Big Ask - Big Autumn Push1 October 2007
Local campaigners have been busy over the last few months. Whether dressed as mermaids or penguins - or organising public meetings and street stalls - they have been taking action on The Big Ask.
Mermaids were on the streets of Sheffield to encourage people to ask their MP for a strong Climate Change Bill.

While in Waltham Forest, London, MPs Harry Cohen and Neil Gerrard speak about their support for a strong Climate Bill.

A local councillor in Eccles stops to talk to a sad penguin about the Climate Bill.

In Brighton, Des Turner MP shows his support for a strong Climate Change Bill in an article in The Argus.

Individuals from all over Nottinghamshire take action on climate change.

A mermaid in Sheffield talks to the local media about how people can support The Big Ask.

Locals in Hayes sign a postcard to their MP.

Michael Clapham MP for Barnsley West and Penistone, supports a strong Climate Bill. As does Mike Wood MP in Batley and Spen (below).

Next steps
In November, MPs will vote on the Climate Change Bill in the House of Commons. It will then move on to the next stage when a Committee will discuss the Bill line by line.
It is vital that all MPs, especially from the Labour Party, show their support for a strong Climate Change Bill as it progresses through Parliament.
