The European Social Forum (ESF) in London in mid October brought together thousands of campaigners, activists and concerned individuals to discuss issues such as the environment, globalisation and war.
On the stall: activists paint Thanksgiving cards
Friends of the Earth was there with:
- a video installation exposing the impacts of the oil economy
- seminars on issues such as climate change, corporate power, GM and trade
- a stall for people to take action and receive information.
Hundreds of people painted turkey Thanksgiving cards to send to George Bush in protest against his government's claim that the EU's cautious approach to GM is an illegal barrier to free trade.
