4,400 solar panels to power Blackfriars station
9 August 2012

The first London solar-powered mainline London station will cut its annual CO2 emissions by over 500 tonnes.

It's electricity bill will also be reduced by tens of thousands of pounds a year.

The 2,200th solar panel has now been installed on the station roof.

Blackfriars will be one of the world's great solar power installations. It's a great feeling to be half way there.
