To celebrate Friends of the Earth's 40th anniversary, I've been talking to some of the supporters who've made it all possible. Suzannah Evans (right) is a university tutor who's encouraging others to go green too.

"I'm a coordinator of Newport's Friends of the Earth group. We're setting up a network called Green Newport, bringing like-minded groups together.

"One of our aims is to open an Environment Centre, with a shop, cafe, training rooms and screening rooms.

"We've started a green film club, with free screenings - it's one of the best ways of engaging people. We live in such a consumerist society, people don't want to change their lifestyles."

But with something like this, we might slowly start to change behaviour.

Next week: Pete Wilkinson. To see all the supporters I interviewed, visit our 40th anniversary gallery.
