Big profits at British Gas26 July 2012
Hard-hit energy consumers hear that British Gas profits are up 23 percent.
Only yesterday the Government gave gas drillers a £500 million tax credit.
And today British Gas announce a 23% increase in profits - equivalent to nearly £2m per day in the first half of 2012.
While many consumers struggle with their bills the Big Six continue to rake in massive profits by keeping the country hooked on dirty and expensive gas.

Government figures show 5.5 million UK households live in fuel poverty - meaning they can't afford to heat their homes to a reasonable standard.
British Gas recently warned customers that bills may increase this coming winter because of wholesale gas costs.
Energy Secretary bows to Chancellor
Just yesterday Chancellor George Osborne announced a half-billion pound bonus for the natural gas industry.
The Government also cut subsidies for onshore wind production by 10%.
This, as Energy Secretary Ed Davey aims for clean energy to meet 15% of the UK's energy needs by 2020.
No CBE for the Government
85% of the public would backĀ legislation to make power companies generate more of our electricity from home-grown renewable energy.
Yet the Government moves in the opposite direction.
That's why Friends of the Earth's Clean British Energy campaign is pushing for a transformation of the energy system.
Our best chance of affordable bills is to cut energy waste and switch to clean British energy from the wind, sun, and waves.
