New speakers confirmed for Conference:
Phillip Blond, (Director of think-tank ResPublica) and Ken Livingstone (Mayor of London 2000-2008) will take to the stage to address Local Groups Conference.
The theme of Conference is "Power and politics: can we create a different environment?"
The opening speaker event should be a stimulating exchange of ideas. Ken Livingstone and Phillip Blond will bring their personal reflections on the role of NGOs, politics and how to create change.
Additional speakers
Also confirmed is Pablo Valenzuela, Communications officer, Sobrevivencia/ Friends of the Earth Paraguay. He will be involved in the Saturday seminar session.
The closing plenary of Conference on Sunday 12 September is led by Meena Raman, Honorary Secretary General of Friends of the Earth Malaysia/Friends of the Earth International.
