Fancy a pint?
26 November 2009

I'm obsessed by all things Danish at the moment - Copenhagen climate talks on the brain.

Which got me thinking about Carlsberg lager's advertising - like the pub football team film with Bobby Charlton and England's past heroes (below).

It gave me an idea for a new ad using Carlsberg's catchline.

The scene - a press conference with Barack Obama, Gordon Brown and leaders from rich and poor countries. Big smiles all round.

Obama steps up to the microphone:

We have agreed that industrialised countries will cut their emissions by at least 40 per cent by 2020.
We have agreed to make these cuts ourselves, not by buying carbon credits from developing countries or by offsetting.
And we, the United States and other rich countries, have agreed to pay for poorer countries to develop in a clean way and cope with the effects of climate change.

The speech is probably the best news in the world. So good it could have been written by Friends of the Earth.

As the audience stands to applaud, the following appears on screen:

Carlsberg don't do climate talks, but if they did, they'd probably be the best climate talks in the world.

PS: If anyone from Carlsberg is reading, feel free to use the idea.

PPS: But please credit Friends of the Earth.
