Who will be this year's stars?7 September 2011
This weekend, 9-11 September, the winners of our Earthmover Awards will be announced in a glittering ceremony at Friends of the Earth's annual Conference.
Local groups and individual group members have been nominated in six different categories for the 2011 Earthmover Awards.
Three of these categories - Group of the Year; Campaign or Project of the Year; Outreach Event or Activity of the Year - are decided by a panel of judges (made up of local group members and Board members).
You can read summaries of all the nominations for the Judged Awards here. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the Saturday night of Conference.
The other three categories are known as our People's Choice Awards, and include Friend of the Earth (individual award), Photo of the Year and Powerful Communication of the Year. The winners of these categories will be decided by Conference delegates.
Information on the People's Choice Awards will be given to everyone attending Conference. There'll also be a big display of all the photos and communications for delegates to browse before making a decision. The results will be announced at the awards ceremony.
