EDF profits from sky-high energy bills
17 February 2012

The energy company reveals a jump in profit despite a fall in sales.

EDF is the first of the Big Six energy companies to announce its 2011 profits - which have tripled since 2010.

The Big Six control 99% of our energy. All of them increased our gas bills just before the winter period - prompting a public outcry.

EDF's customers are footing the bill for its massive profits - our energy bills are sky-high because the big energy firms are keeping us hooked on expensive and dirty fossil fuels.

Poor suffer as rich profit

Rocketing energy bills mean that more people are falling into fuel poverty - facing the choice between eating and heating.

We're urging people to join our hugely popular Final Demand campaign for a public inquiry into the power of the Big Six. Tens of thousands have already signed up to fight for fairer energy bills.
