As Climate Bill consultation ends - summer begins 1 June 2007
The public consultation on the draft Climate Change Bill has now closed.
Thank you so much if you were one of the thousands of people who sent your own response to the consultation.
Onwards and upwards
Since the launch of The Big Ask in May 2005 - the campaign for a strong climate law has gone from strength to strength.
In just eighteen months 130,000 people contacted their MP - asking them to support a strong climate law.
The result? In November 2006 the Government announced it would introduce a Climate Bill.
People often say 'Does anything change politics?', well here it has.
Nick Robinson, BBC Political Editor, commenting on the
Friends of the Earth Big Ask campaign and the inclusion of a Climate Change Bill in the Queen's Speech.
The draft Climate Bill was published earlier this year. Since then, the Government has been asking for your views. Thank you so much if you responded.
What next?
This Autumn the Government is likely to publish the next version of the Bill. MPs will then debate and vote on the finer details.
Please help keep the pressure on your MP over the summer to ensure the Bill is a strong one.

We have lots of free materials that explain more about The Big Ask. Whether in staff canteens, at village fetes or at summer festivals - there are plenty of ways to spread the word.
If you could help to distribute some materials please contact us with your address and how many you would like.
Thank you.
