The Copenhagen Flood
6 August 2009

Friends of the Earth International is organising a Flood for Climate Justice in Copenhagen on 12 December 2009.

The action will take place in the middle weekend of the UNFCCC climate conference.

It will be a clear demand for climate justice - calling on world leaders to find fair solutions to the climate crisis.

Message to decision makers

The event will start in the morning with a colourful procession moving as a human flood. This will pass through Nørrebro - one of the working class neighbourhoods of Copenhagen.

The Flood will end in one of the main squares in the city centre. We'll use our bodies and voices to spell out a message to decision makers in a giant living banner.

What we're calling for

We hope to use the action to help build a climate justice movement in support of our demands.

This will support other events in Copenhagen such as the Klimaforum09.
