Be an environmental Game-Changer
20 April 2011

Passionate about our planet? Want to help make a difference? Be an environmental Game-Changer with Friends of the Earth.

We're looking for 10-15 people of any age with an interest in environmental issues to trial an activist training programme, starting in May/ June in the Midlands.

No prior experience is necessary, but some travel to Birmingham will be required.

We'll be aiming to:

  • help you explore the issues
  • share the skills needed to be an environmental game-changer
  • enable you to take action with Friends of the Earth.

It's called the Game-Changer programme because we want to help set you up as a player in your area, beginning to make environmental change happen

Tim Atkinson, Network Developer

What does it involve?

  • Optional monthly skill-shares in Birmingham on topics like lobbying and influencing, fundraising, new and traditional media and more.
  • Actions to take to put these skills into practice.
  • Taking part in our national and local campaigns.
  • Exploring what's going on in your community with your local Friends of the Earth group.
  • Networking opportunities - online and telephone
  • Support from experienced local group activists and staff.

The programme is modular, so you can take part in the programme as much as you want, as your time allows. As you attend sessions and take action, you'll earn points towards environmental game-changer status.
