The Bee Cause comes to Highbury Fields
Islington Friends of the Earth recently turned a small corner of London into a bee-friendly space. The group organised a planting day and invited the public to join in.
Working with Islington Council the group secured a plot of land in Highbury Fields - as a practical way of helping bees in the borough.
The Council provided tools on the day and the group made sure everyone had gloves and gardening equipment.
The event was a great success - the sun shone and everyone had fun gardening together. The newly planted plot now has its own sign promoting The Bee Cause campaign.
The group is working with the Council to make sure the area is looked after in the long term.
Bees are essential to our food supply, economy and quality of life.
Please join The Bee Cause and help save Britain's bees.
