The Big Ask cinema night sells out1 February 2007
The first Big Ask cinema night was a huge success.
Dozens of people had to be turned away from the screening of An Inconvenient Truth because it had sold out an hour before doors opened.
The movie was in the news that day because it had picked up two Oscars for Best Documentary Film and Best Original Song.
After the film, Environment Secretary David Miliband answered questions from the audience. He also promised to blog about one of the issues raised in the debate.
That was whether the 60% by 2050 target to be included in the Climate Change Bill is a big enough cut in carbon dioxide emissions, given the latest scientific evidence? You can read David's answer on his blog.

Light on energy
Friends of the Earth Director Tony Juniper also asked him a question posted on our forum last week. Would the Government follow Australia and ban inefficient light bulbs?
David Miliband said this was a positive step but that Britain would pursue such measures through the European Union. This could result in 490 million people using less wasteful bulbs!
