Jeremy Irons to attend UK Green Film Festival
28 May 2013

Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons will attend the closing night Gala of the UK Green Film Festival 2013.

Irons, star of Trashed, will take part in a Q&A following the film's screening at the Hackney Picturehouse, Saturday 8 June. The director Candida Brady will also attend.

Selected for a special screening at Cannes, Trashed scooped awards at Tokyo International Film Festival and FIFE International Environmental Film Festival.

The documentary follows Jeremy Irons as he journeys around the world to investigate beautiful destinations tainted by rubbish mountains and pollution. Irons looks for solutions - from the innovative to the radical.

The Q&A marks the culmination of the UK Green Film Festival, a showcase for some of the best recent films and documentaries that highlight climate change and other environmental issues.

Now in its third year, the festival opens on Saturday 1 June. Taking place in 16 cities across the UK, highlights include:

  • The UK première of More than Honey.
  • Markus Imhoof's visually-stunning look at the bee crisis.
  • Valley of Saints and Future My Love -  two very different love stories.
