A better Britain for all?

Rally: Justice Now!

Labour's catchphrase for the Conference is "a better Britain for all" - yesterday 6,000 people gathered to tell Mr Blair that Labour are not living up to their slogans.

The Trade Justice Movement rally called for Labour to support trade justice for all.

Viva Trade Justice

Thousands of Mums, Dads, grandparents and kids, and everyone in between, got together to support the movement.

We want people all over the globe to be paid a fair price for their produce and wares, and believe that current trade rules make this impossible.

As the sun finally broke through the clouds in the afternoon, the rally made a final effort to impress. We chanted and blew whistles right outside The Brighton Centre where delegates were meeting - let's hope the key messages were heard inside.

On message: who says kids don't care about politics?

Labour-o-rama

Conference fever infiltrates all walks of life in Brighton.

Police and the media mix with a huge array of leafletters canvassing support - all vying to raise interest in their campaigns.

Walking in town this morning, I was accosted by three well informed young boys. They asked whether I supported Tony Blair or not and said they weren't too impressed with the PM or his role in Iraq.

Quizmaster

Yesterday our Senior Parliamentary Campaigner Martyn Williams made his Conference debut as captain of an environment team in a fringe quiz night.

Martyn's team put in a great effort to earn a fourth place - despite a noticeable health slant to the questions. While the health experts (predictably) won, the press table came last!

Until tomorrow,

Tricia.
