Montreal climate march - a huge success
1 December 2005

While thousands of people were marching in London - and thousands more taking part in demonstrations in over 30 countries worldwide - Montreal was host to the largest event of them all.

On the middle Saturday of the critical UN climate talls taking place in Montreal tens of thousands of people lined the streets in the same city.

Justice for climate refugees

Friends of the Earth Australia campaigner Steph Long, showed her concern over climate refugees.

There was a fantastic aray of colourful banners and signs. The message was loud and clear to the civil servants negotiating at the conference.

Friends of the Earth International campaigners enjoyed taking part in the demonstration!

It was the largest ever climate change march in Canada. The issue is especially acute in the northern Arctic regions of the country.

Banner saying 'The world can't wait'

Truly, the world can't wait. The news from Montreal was positive, but we must keep the pressure on the politicians to make sure that we all work together to tackle climate change.

Press for change
