Fruitful News for Alnwick 19 March 2011
Alnwick Friends of the Earth have been working with their council to secure a lease for their community orchard for over 2 years.
They've worked together to develop plans for the site, apply for funding and publicising the idea to the community.
Earlier this week they heard that their hard work had paid off - when they received a 99 year lease for the Bullfield site.
The group hopes to involve many people from across the community in the project and provide a sustainable source of fruit and nuts for the people of Alnwick.
