Party conferences 2010: a platform for the planet27 September 2010
Conference season is in full swing - and Friends of the Earth experts are attending the three major parties' events.
Party conferences are a great opportunity to put the case for the environment publicly to politicians.
We're aiming to make sure politicians across the spectrum have the environment front of mind.
This year we're talking to ministers, spokespeople, MPs and councillors about our solutions to climate change, and the loss of natural resources.
And we're stressing that action on the environment will be good for jobs and the economy.
We're urging them to step up their support for our campaigns on:
- local action to tackle climate change
- the green economy
- planet-friendly farming
- greener, warmer homes
- cleaner energy
- reducing our resource use.
We're running high-profile events on our Get Serious About CO2 and Food Chain campaigns, including fringe meetings and eye-catching stunts, and putting our experts on a range of platforms.
The party conferences itinerary:
-
Liberal Democrats, Liverpool - 18-22 September
-
Labour, Manchester - 26-30 September
-
Conservatives, Birmingham - 3-6 October
