Turn on, tune in, take action27 November 2006
Tune in to 102.2 - 102.8 FM (South West residents only) from today and for the next nine months you could catch one of the 40 second climate bulletins to be aired daily on Pirate FM.
A collaboration between Cornwall Friends of the Earth and Pirate FM, Climate Radio is one of 80 national projects that aims to change people's current attitudes to climate change. This follows government research that has shown that although most people (nationally) are aware of climate change and the need to do something about it, most:
- aren't clear about what causes it or how to tackle it;
- don't think it will affect them personally;
- find it a depressing or negative issue;
- don't include climate change when making everyday decisions.
Cornwall Friends of the Earth are also running a series of community events and workshops, as well as a website at http://www.foecornwall.org/.
